I read Secondary Sighting within 24 hours. I did not want to put it down. I have been anxiously awaiting the sequel to Primary Possessions to see if Noti and Dyl would end up together. I was not disappointed in the sequel; I think it might even be better than the first book. I was not happy when she meets Chad at college on the first day. Noti meets more than Chad, she also starts seeing ghosts and having bad dreams again. She starts seeing three blond girls and has to wonder if it is related to the serial killer from the 70’s. For me the ghost part of the story took second place to Noti and her relationships with her friends who included Dyl, Ryli and Jay from Primary Possession. We also meet new friends at college (Kris and Mick) and a crazy roommate (Lisa). I loved that Noti had a great relationship with her parents. I also thought the author did a great job of creating a realistic best friend relationship between Noti and Ryli. Noti is one of the best main characters I have read in YA fiction. The secondary characters were real and natural, and complimented the main characters and the storyline well.
I don’t want to ruin the story for you but at times it was raw emotion. I felt her betrayal and heartbreak to the bone. I was like – OH NO, HE DID NOT! I recommend this book and would suggest reading them in order.
