Summary
The challenge is not to give away too much of the story! Tessie Ann and her beau find themselves eloping when her father is adamantly opposed to their marriage. They see no reason for his opposition. They see his attitude as mere stubbornness. None of the opening scenes to the novel seem to be very \"Amish\" themes. But as a good novelist will do, Beverly Lewis uses the unexpected to craft an excellent story. Trust is a major theme. Everyone in the story is clamoring for trust.
