Summary
Overall Kingsbury and Smalley make a great team! Rejoice is the fourth book in the Redemption series about the Baxter family. This installment centers on living out a life marked by joy despite the circumstances that may be difficult. It seems like a trite concept, but the authors depiction of the concept is anything but. I like how they bring the characters through life experiences that in many ways closely mirror the reader's own life experiences. The gift of this is to allow the reader the opportunity to reflect on how she can respond to her own life circumstances. Marriage problems that stem from neglect for each other and forgetting why/how you need one another. Tragic health issues that can lead to guilt or shame or distancing oneself from the very ones you most need. Not everyone will like reading about some of the heavy concepts dealt with in this series; but I applaud the authors for putting these relational issues out there to cause us to think and put life in perspective. And to encourage us to live out
of joy.
